Job Objective

The Sheet Metal Technician is responsible for performing preventive and non- preventive maintenance, alterations, and inspections functions on various customer and company aircraft, engines, and appliances.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with appropriate personnel to repair aircraft and aircraft components as required
  • Conduct inspections and functional tests to verify the proper operation of aircraft, aircraft systems and aircraft components using approved tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Consult maintenance manuals, technical publications, and manufacturer specifications to determine accurate procedures for repairs and replacements
  • Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, and company policies
  • Accurately develop and maintain records of maintenance actions, inspections, parts usage, and other documentation as required
  • Maintain required certifications and stay current with industry standards, procedures, and aircraft system knowledge
  • Perform maintenance tasks using OEM manuals, aircraft drawings, schematics, and standard symbols to accurately diagnose and repair issues
  • Carry out additional maintenance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or Director of Maintenance

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer a valid FAA A&P certificate or in the process of completing certificate requirements or previous military experience
  • Experience in a Part 145 Repair Station preferred

Physical Demands

  • Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting for extended periods of time
  • Climbing heights on various equipment
  • Lifting up to 50 or more pounds
  • Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required

Work Environment

  • Indoor/Outdoor environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible
  • Moderate to loud noise level 
  • Heavy machinery used

Work Status, Schedule, Travel

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Thursday 7:00 am-4:30 pm, Friday 7:00 am-12:00 pm
  • Overtime necessary depending on workload 
  • No travel required
