Job Objective

The Paint Preparation Technician is responsible to effectively prepare aircraft body parts for paint completion.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning, and masking
  • Mix and apply fillers to aircraft body parts and fuselage
  • Ensure that all surfaces are properly prepared for painting
  • Sand and buff completed paint scheme on aircraft body parts and fuselage
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in paint preparation or a related field
  • Knowledge of paint mixing and application techniques

Physical Demands

  • Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting for extended periods of time
  • Climbing heights on various equipment
  • Lifting up to 50 or more pounds
  • Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required

Work Environment

  • Indoor/Outdoor environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible
  • Moderate to loud noise level 
  • Heavy machinery used

Work Status, Schedule, Travel

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Thursday 7:00 am-4:30 pm, Friday 7:00 am-12:00 pm
  • Overtime necessary depending on workload 
  • No travel required
