Metro Aviation, Inc. is seeking a Parts Specialist for our Part 145 Repair Station - Metro Gulf Division in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Job Objective

The Parts Specialist is responsible for supporting maintenance operations by efficiently managing the procurement, receipt, storage, distribution, and documentation of aircraft parts, materials, and tools.

Essential Functions

  • Process and fulfill all parts orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Receive and process incoming shipments by:
    Identifying, controlling, segregating, and storing all materials (including raw materials and parts) in compliance with manufacturer requirements and industry standards
    • Ensuring all articles are received into stock according to the procedures outlined in the Repair Station Quality Manual
    • Documenting receipts and properly recording articles placed into stock.
  • Prepare and process outgoing shipments, verifying that all items match the packing slip
  • Maintain the inventory room in an organized manner and monitor stock levels to ensure availability
  • Maintain and replenish bin stock as needed
  • Pull and distribute parts for shop mechanics
  • Perform company errands as assigned
  • Track and manage core returns to vendors
  • Track and manage parts sent out for repair
  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained for repairs and core returns (e.g., log cards, 8130s, etc.)
  • Oversee the calibrated tool program and maintain general tool inventory

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

  • Highly organized
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team oriented
  • Ability to prioritize with goal set standards
  • Leadership background preferred
  • Working knowledge of articles inspecting

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of walking, pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, sitting, and standing
  • Climbing on various heights
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

  • Indoor/outdoor aircraft hangar or shop with potentially extreme cold and hot temperatures
  • Potential for exposure to hazardous chemicals
  • Moderate to loud noise level

Work Status, Schedule, & Travel

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Thursday 7:00am-4:30pm, Friday 7:00am-12:00pm
  • Overtime necessary depending on workload
  • No travel required
