Job Objective

The Welder precisely welds and fabricates aircraft components manufactured from standard and specialty metals.

Essential Functions

• Fabrication of components from engineering drawings and blueprints
• Weld aircraft components in accordance with FAA/Company process specifications and procedures.
• Develop weld jigs/fixtures/tooling as required to produce parts
• Manage weld area inventory and procurement of supplies (materials, gases, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints and weld symbols
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity for precision welds in tight spaces
• Attention to detail while multitasking
• Efficient work speed while meeting defined tolerances and monitoring part warpage, distortion, and movement
• Knowledge of TIG welding procedures (cutting, heating, fabrication)
• Ability to weld the following standard and specialty metals (i.e. 4130 tubing/plate, stainless steel, aluminum) in thickness ranging from 0.032” to 0.125” and above

o   4130 tubing/plate
o   Stainless steel
o   Aluminum

Education & Experience

• Minimum (5) years of welding experience required

Physical Demands

• Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling
• Climbing heights on various equipment
• Use of heavy machinery
• Lifting up to 50 or more pounds

Work Environment

• Indoor/outdoor shop environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible
• Moderate to loud noise level

Work Status, Schedule, & Travel

• Full-time
• Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
• Overtime dependent on work
• No travel required
