Job Objective
The Aviation Maintenance Quality Control Inspector is responsible to ensure the highest level of safety, reliability and quality of our aircraft fleet by monitoring, inspecting, verifying, and validating all maintenance work performed on Metro Aviation aircraft is performed in accordance with the Metro Aviation General Operations Manual, Company Policy and Procedures, FAA regulatory requirements, and industry best practices..
Essential Functions
- Responsible for maintaining a close liaison with the Program Lead Technician and Hangar Manager to provide the current status of aircraft condition
- Monitor, inspect, and verify all repair, maintenance, and modification work performed on aircraft to ensure compliance with the Metro Aviation GOM, Company Policy and Procedure, FAA regulations, and manufacturer's specifications.
- Provide aircraft technical support and interpret technical data and regulatory compliance matters to Aviation Maintenance Technicians
- Carry out in process routine and random inspections on aircraft systems, and components to identify any potential faults or failures and to verify proper installation and functionality of all aircraft, engine, and appliance systems
- Primary person responsible for performing Secondary Maintenance Checks on aircraft undergoing inspection, maintenance, repair, and modification in the hangar
- Monitor all maintenance activity in the hangar for the use of the proper tools, equipment, and test apparatus necessary to ensure completion of the work in accordance with accepted industry practices
- Ensure all maintenance, inspection, and repair activity is being performed in accordance with the appropriate and applicable manufacturer's maintenance references, AAIP inspection checklists/procedures, and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness
- Review and approve maintenance, repair, work order records, inspection records, and all documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Assists Aviation Maintenance Technicians in locating and interpreting the applicable data to perform maintenance, inspections, and repair
- Performs daily audits of the work order and inspection documentation for accuracy and currency
- Ensure all maintenance activity performed is documented, inclusive of parts/component removal entries
- Ensure discrepancies are accurately documented and addressed during maintenance and inspections
- Ensure all necessary aircraft documents and MAI documents are completed and maintained in accordance with applicable 14 CFR Regulations, General Operations Manual, and company policies, including all part certifications, parts tags/FAA Form 8130’s
- Ensure proper inspection and repair sequencing procedures are carried out during the performance of all maintenance activity in the hangar
- Responsible for the overall quality of all maintenance activity performed in the hangar
- Identify and report any discrepancies or non-conformities in maintenance work, and coordinate corrective actions as required
- Responsible for a thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, the General Maintenance Manual, the Operations Manual, and Operations Specifications

- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Software
Education & Experience
- Must possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate (Inspection Authorization a plus)
- Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience with turbine powered rotorcraft (quality control experience a plus)
- Must possess a minimum of five 5 years of experience on the model of aircraft operated at the program
