Job Objective

The Corporate Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company. The position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Corporate Staff Accountant meticulously manages financial data to ensure precise and timely financial reporting for the company and affiliates.

Essential Functions

  • Generate recurring payables and process vendor disbursements by accurately matching checks to invoices and maintaining digital filing systems
  • Reconcile accounts payable statements directly against invoices within the accounting system to maintain ledger accuracy
  • Request, record, and track W-9 forms for 1099 recipients, and prepare and distribute annual 1099 statements in compliance with tax regulations
  • Execute routine bank account and credit card reconciliations to ensure complete alignment between financial statements and internal logs
  • Oversee the company credit card program, including statement reconciliations against employee receipts, expense tracking, and onboarding new employees into the card system
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues and discrepancies associated with purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoice processing
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external vendors, researching and resolving inquiries promptly to maintain strong partner relationships
  • Identify bottlenecks and assist in designing and implementing improvements to streamline accounts payable workflows
  • Provide support to senior financial officers on ad-hoc reporting, audit preparations, and financial analysis as needed
  • Exercise utmost integrity, discretion, and confidentiality across all financial reporting and record-keeping activities
  • Act as a team with all other accounting and accounts payable specialists – ad hoc duties, special projects, backup, etc

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

  • Ability to learn systems quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly accurate and detail-oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records

Education & Experience

  • CPA preferred but not required
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or related field
  • Experience with accounting software and online platforms

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Filing duties include standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, and lifting
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds at times

Work Environment

  • Temperature-controlled office
  • Limited Exposure to outdoor shops with potential extreme cold and hot temperatures and loud noises

Work Status, Schedule, & Travel

  • Full-time
  • Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Overtime may be necessary
  • No travel required
